【SCMP】Cancer patients spread healing power of song
In celebration of Christmas, Music Therapist, Mr. Chung King-man led the Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre Music Therapy Choir to perform at Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel in Tuen Mun.
Centre head from Maggie’s Centre, Mrs. Helen Lui says “Singing helps improve lung function and eases side effects of cancer treatment.”
One of the choir members, Ms. Tsang told us she has become more cheerful after joining the Choir. “I get to meet with a group of people regularly rather than staying at home. Singing is a good breathing exercise for me. My energy was limited following my cancer treatment but now I can hold my breath longer and catch up with the rhythm of the music.”
